Hudson Valley Man Sentenced in Sexual Abuse of Child

A Hudson Valley man will serve prison time after a jury found him guilty of sexually abusing a child.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, between Dec. 25, 2014 and Jan. 31, 2015, 26-year-old Ronald Long III, of Mount Vernon engaged in oral sex with a 10-year-old female. This incident occurred in the girl’s bedroom and was witnessed by her 9-year-old brother. The siblings had a previous relationship with Long.

Around March 24, 2015, Long made contact with the victim between his penis and the victims buttocks, officials say.

Long was arrested on March 27, 2015. Last month he was found guilty of 1st-degree criminal sexual act and 1st-degree sexual abuse, both felonies.

Yesterday in Westchester County Court, Long was sentenced to 16 years in prison He will also be required to go through 15 years post release supervision. Upon completion of his sentence, the defendant will have to register as a sex offender.
