Hudson Valley Wineries Some of the Best in New York
The Hudson Valley has a lot to offer if you are a fan of wine. The wineries in the Hudson Valley are some of the oldest and tastiest in America.
What is the Hudson Valley's Wine Region
We live in what is known as the Hudson River Region for wine. According to New York Wines, it is the Valley, not the Hudson River, that gives us such great grapes that end up making such great wines.

The region starts just above Manhattan and goes up to the south of Albany. It is bordered by the Catskills on the West and Connecticut on the East.
I don't know a lot about wine, but you really don't need my wine knowledge to agree that our area wines are tasty. I try to drink local wines as often as I can, and stopping at one of the many wineries in the Hudson Valley for an afternoon can be great fun.

Just over the Orange County border in Ulster County, you can stop at America's oldest vineyard. That would be the Benmarl Winery in Marlboro, New York. Benamrl has always got something going on. In June, you can join them for Rose' All Day A Summer Kick-Off Party on June 22, 2025.
