Hudson Valley School Districts and Restaurants Giving Out Free Meals to Students
Throughout the Hudson Valley, we are coming together to help one another during this stressful time. Due to school closings, many districts have taken it upon themselves to volunteer their time to set up meals for students. These generous folks have put together grab and go options to assist students by providing nourishment.
Let’s highlight the local schools and businesses that are raising the bar and assisting families and children.
Restaurants
Publick House 23
Publick House is offering free bagged lunches. These meals are available Monday- Friday between 11:00am-1:00pm. Lunch will include a sandwich, a bag of chips, a squeeze yogurt, and a juice box.
Wappingers Falls Café
The Wappingers Falls Café is also assisting students at this time. They are offering free bagged lunches as well. Lunch will include a sandwich, chips, fruit and juice.
Schools
Dutchess County
Beacon City School District:
They are providing free breakfast/lunch at the Beacon High School in the parking lot. They recently updated their meal programs for this week. On Monday and Wednesday meals will be available.
On Mondays, students will receive two days’ worth of breakfast and lunch.
On Wednesdays, students will receive three days’ worth of breakfast and lunch.

Poughkeepsie City School District Schools:
Students will be able to receive breakfast and lunch with the Poughkeepsie City School District, Monday- Friday. Here are the following locations to pick up, pre bagged meals.

Ulster County
Highland Central School District:
They are providing food delivery services by delivering food to locations around Highland for students. Here are the delivery dates.
Monday- March 23rd
Wednesday- March 25nd
Friday- March 27th

- For Bus #1, Bridgeview 9:00- 9:30am and Hudson Hills 9:35- 10:00am
- For Bus #2 VFW on Grand St. 9:00- 9:30am and Methodist Church 9:45- 10:15am

- For Bus #3 Lowes 9:00- 9:30am and Gunk Haus 10:00- 10:30am
- For Bus #4 Sunnybrook 9:00-9:45am

New Paltz Central School District:
They are providing breakfast and lunch to students. Breakfast and lunch can be delivered daily, if you would like to receive these meals you can call (845) 256-4050. There is also a link to follow below that will walk you through the process, just provide your contact info.
New Paltz Central School District is also hosting a food drive, asking for nonperishable food items to support community members and families.
Donations are being accepted at New Paltz Middle School in the front parking lot from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Kingston City School District:
They are also offering free to go breakfast and lunches, Monday-Friday. Students who attend Kingston City School District can stop by either of the following locations.

Saugerties Central School District:
Kids 18 and under of the Saugerties area can receive breakfast and lunch by Saugerties Central School District. On Monday, March 23, there will be 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches per child and on Wednesday, March 25 there will be 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches per child. Simply just stop by one of the locations at the times listed below.

Orange County
Minisink Valley Central School District:
They are offering a porch delivery option to students for breakfast and lunch. Meals would be dropped off Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.

Pick up meal options are available at Minisink Valley Central School District on Rt. 6
Monday-Friday from 7:00am-10:00am
Valley Central Schools:
They are offering breakfast/lunch options which are being distributed to children 18 and under. This is available Monday-Friday.

Pine Bush Schools:
Pine Bush Central School District is giving out meals to children under the age of 19. You do not need to be a Pine Bush Central School District student to receive these meals. Grab and go breakfast and lunch will be served in pre packed bags, Monday-Friday.

A special shout out to the restaurants and school districts assisting meals and putting smiles on so many faces here in the Hudson Valley. As I was driving through Poughkeepsie, I saw folks smiling at one another and handing out goods in a random parking lot. Seeing people come together to help others that they don’t know, brought a smile to my face. It’s in times like these that we remember that we are here for each other.
