A town right in the heart of the Hudson Valley has been named one of the best locations in America to go trick or treating.

The Daily Meal has compiled a list of the best locations nationwide and for the second year in a row, the Hudson Valley is represented. While Cornwall was number one in 2014, this year they've fallen to the number eight position.

To determine the list, America's most family friendly towns were identified. At least one town in each state was selected. The list was further narrowed according to safety, based on crime rates and the number of registered sex offenders in the area. Another factor taken into consideration was the number of fall festivals and local parties. The final factor was 'walkabilty', or how easy it is for trick or treaters to get around on foot.

The list was compiled for the very first time last year. The 2015 edition is more comprehensive as the 'walkability' factor was previously not taken into consideration .
