Jeffrey Dean Morgan and wife Hilarie Burton are both well known actors and Hudson Valley residents. Morgan is currently one of the most hated villains on TV while Burton is perhaps best known for her time on One Tree Hill.  The Daily Freeman reports the two are giving back to the community by helping to construct a new residential unit at the Astor Home For Children in Rhinebeck.

The dynamic duo are working to make it happen by supporting local fundraisers and assembling volunteers to assist with construction. The Freeman mentions that the two took interest after finding out about the children who live there. According to their website, the Astor Home was founded in 1953 in response to a state wide initiative to reduce the need of psychiatric hospitalization of children.

Morgan is active in the local community, co-owning Samuel's Sweet Shop with actor Paul Rudd and driving a float in the Sinterklaas Festival in Rhinebeck last winter.
