
Vandals Cause Massive Damage to Popular Field in Dutchess County
A popular park in Dutchess County has been destroyed after someone drove a vehicle onto the park's field and left behind massive damage.
The Beekman Recreation & Parks Department, along with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, is hoping to locate the person or persons responsible for damaging field #3 at Doherty Park in the Town of Beekman, NY.

As you can see in the pictures above/below, it appears that someone drove a vehicle onto Doherty Park Field #3 and proceeded to do donuts on the grass, leaving behind "terrible" damage, according to a recent social media post on the Beekman Recreation & Parks Department page.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Detective Division has begun an investigation into who might be responsible for the destruction of the field, which is currently used by the Dutchess Gaelic Athletic Association.
Vandals Leave Behind Destruction in Hopewell Junction, NY Area
Not only was field #3 damaged, but it appears that the vandals also damaged a porta-potty that was set up in the area of the field.
Anyone who has any information as to who might be responsible for the damage is being asked to contact the recreation and parks department office at 845-227-5783.
Doherty Park Field's Future
The recreation and parks department did provide an update following the original post on social media, stating that they have met with its landscape company to determine the best course of action and are planning to have work started as soon as the sheriff's office gives them the "all clear".
They hope to have the pitch fixed by the end of the month.
