Former NSYNC member and current pop star, Justin Timberlake has been arrested in New York.
Justin Timberlake Arrested in New York
ABC7 NY reports that Timberlake was recently arrested on Long Island on Monday night, June 17th, 2024.
Timberlake was "charged him with driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor" and expected in court on Tuesday morning, June 18th. We'll update this story with more information as it is released.
Will Timberlake be singing "Bye, Bye, Bye" to his world tour after this arrest?
The singer is currently on tour for his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour and is scheduled to perform in Chicago later this week. Timberlake is scheduled to play Madison Square Garden on June 25th.
Former Boyband Member, No Stranger to Bad Press
Unfortunately, JT is used to bad press. This year, it was all about Justin VS. Britney, which we'll get into shortly.
In the past, Timberlake has been accused of infidelity while married to actress Jessica Biel. A video surfaced in 2019 of Timberlake and his co-star at the time Alisha Wainwright getting handsy in New Orleans while filming "Palmer."
Then if you go further back, Timberlake played a part in the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction scandal in the early 2000s and NSYNC fans (read: me) believe Timberlake is the reason why there hasn't been a reunion with the popular boy band.
Justin Timberlake Vs Britney Spears
The beginning of 2024 was tough for Timberlake.
Earlier this year, after his former girlfriend Britney Spears released her tell-all book, Timberlake wasn't portrayed in the best light. In the book, Spears details infidelity, getting pregnant with Timberlake's child, and having an abortion.
Spears writes "On the appointed day, with only Felicia and Justin there, I took the little pills. Soon I started having excruciating cramps. I went into the bathroom and stayed there for hours, lying on the floor, sobbing and screaming."
She adds:
Justin came into the bathroom and lay on the floor with me. At some point he thought maybe music would help, so he got his guitar and he lay there with me strumming it."
After the book went viral, Timberlake mocked the situation on stage and said he was "sorry to absolutely nobody." Which left many fans with a bad taste in their mouth.
We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
