Someone Just Won $1 Million Playing Powerball in Highland, NY
The New York State Lottery has announced that a second-prize-winning Powerball ticket was sold in Ulster County.
The winning ticket for the Monday, August 31 drawing was purchased at the Hannaford grocery store in Bridgeview Plaza on Route 9W in Highland, NY. According to the Lottery, the ticket matched all five of the white-ball numbers, earning the lucky ticket holder the game's $1 million second prize.
The winning numbers for Monday night's drawing were 11, 17, 25, 37 and 49, with a red Powerball of 10.
There was no jackpot winner of the $134 million prize, but two tickets around the country matched all five white-ball numbers without the Powerball and won $1 million. One of those lucky tickets was sold right here in New York.
And now comes the fun part: everyone needs to check their tickets.
Hannaford in Highland Sells Winning Powerball Ticket Worth $1 Million
If you stopped into the Hannaford located at 3650 Route 9W in Bridgeview Plaza in Highland recently and bought a Powerball ticket, you may want to dig through your pockets, check your wallet, look in the center console of your car, and basically search everywhere you might have tossed that ticket.

The winner has yet to be identified, so there's a good chance someone is walking around with no idea they are holding a ticket worth $1 million.
So, check those tickets!
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Players choose five numbers from 1 through 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 through 26. A standard Powerball play costs $2, with Power Play available for an additional $1.
