
New York State Police Make Two Massive Drug Busts
Two separate traffic stops resulted in the New York State Police confiscating over five pounds of illegal drugs.
The New York State Police (NYSP) Troop K Community Stabilization Unit has announced the arrest of two suspects after separate traffic stops resulted in troopers locating over two pounds of cocaine and more than three pounds of fentanyl hidden inside each vehicle.
Two Pounds of Cocaine Found Inside Car in Newburgh, NY
The first traffic stop happened on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m. when troopers stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on the New York State Thruway (I-87) in the Town of Newburgh, NY, for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

During the stop, troopers and State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in K9 Vinn giving a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. Troopers proceeded to search inside the vehicle and located more than two pounds of cocaine, approximately two grams of fentanyl, and 4.4 grams of heroin.
The driver, identified as 38-year-old Katrina A. Haeger, of Whitehall, New York, was arrested at the scene and charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, an A-I felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (intent to sell), a class B felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a class A misdemeanor
She was arraigned in the Village of Goshen, NY, Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
Major Drug Bust During Traffic Stop in White Plains, NY
The second stop happened the following day, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at approximately 1:53 p.m., when members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit, along with the NYSP Special Investigations Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the City of White Plains, NY, for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
During the stop, troopers and K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.
Hidden Compartment Holding Over Three Pounds of Fentanyl
Following the alert, troopers searched inside the vehicle and discovered an aftermarket, electronically operated hidden compartment. Troopers proceeded to open the compartment and allegedly found multiple packages containing fentanyl, weighing more than 1,500 grams.
The driver, who was not identified by the NYSP, was arrested at the scene and charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st, an A-I felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (intent to sell), a class B felony
They were arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
