These 3 New York Apple Orchards Need Your Vote to Be Named the Best in America

The Hudson Valley is no stranger to USA Today's 10Best lists.

We've made several of their lists like Best Amphitheater (Bethel Woods) and Best Candy Shop (Samuel's Sweet Shop).

This time USA Today is on the hunt for the Best Apple Orchard and the Hudson Valley is already moving to the top.

3 New York Apple Orchards In the Running For Best in The Nation

Before you know it, you'll be busting out the flannels and boots to hit up your local apple orchard for a full day of family fun.

The apples ready to be picked and the experts at USA Today have narrowed down the Top 20 Best Apple Orchards in the nation.

Their goal is to have the public vote on their favorite and narrow down the list again, this time down to 10.

There are 3 New York orchards that could end up holding the title for Best Apple Orchard in the U.S. but they need your vote.

Minard Family Farm in Clintondale is holding the #5 spot as of August 13th, 2026. USA Today writes:

This beloved family farm features one of the most popular U-pick apple orchards in the country.

Beak and Skiff in Lafayette, also home to the 1911 cider tap room, has the #4 spot. Outhouse Orchards in North Salem rounds out the list at #20.

USA Today will be taking your votes until September 5th, so get them in now!

2 New York Pumpkin Patches Also Up for 10Best Title

If there are apples, of course there are pumpkins.

USA Today is also on the search for the 10Best Pumpkin Patches across the nation. Naturally, New York and the Hudson Valley are well represented.

Kelder's Farm in Kerhonkson is currently in the #4 spot out of the top 20.  USA Today's experts say "Whether you're looking for the perfect photo op or a day of nonstop fun, Kelder's is a fantastic autumn destination in the Hudson Valley."

Iron Kettle Farm in Candor, NY is also in the top 20 for Best Pumpkin Patches. They are currently in the #18 spot. Iron Kettle Farm has got everything from hayrides to pumpkin slingshots and a haunted house.
