When The Hudson Valley's Favorite Ice Cream Stands Open For The Spring Season

1.) The Original Mickey's Igloo

This Ulster County, NY business has been involved in the community for over 60 years. I had the opportunity to meet one of the new owners, grab some ice cream and enjoyed this experience on a warm, summer night.

Mickey's Igloo has more than ice cream. They also serve burgers, fries and fried dough. They also offer vegan and vegetarian options as well.

Guests are also able to download their menu for the 2025 season to see what will be available. They are open 7 days a week from 12pm-8pm.

Mickey's Igloo is also open for the 2025 season! They are located at 416 E Chester St in Kingston, NY.

2.) Quickway Twin Cone


Hudson Valley Facebook users included Quickway Twin Cone in being one of their favorite ice cream stands in the Hudson Valley.

This Sullivan County, NY business has been proudly serving the area for over 36 years. This family owned ice cream shop is conveniently located off of Exit 116, next to Quickway Diner.

Quickway Twin Cone serves up their ice cream options that residents love including their soft serve options, their unique twists, sundaes and more.

According to their Instagram, they are cash only and open 7 days a week.

Quickway Twin Cone is also open for the 2025 season! They are located at 68 NY-17K in Bloomingburg, NY.

3.) Joe's Dairy Bar & Grill


Hudson Valley Facebook users included Joe's Dairy Bar & Grill in being one of their favorite ice cream stands in the Hudson Valley.

This Dutchess County, NY business serves ice cream options along with their burgers, philly cheese steaks, fries and more.

Joe's Dairy Bar & Grill shared that they have won "Best Ice Cream" and are also known as being a "7-Time Regional Best Ice Cream Winner".

They are open 7 days a week, have been open year round and also offer takeout along with delivery options.

Joe's Dairy Bar & Grill is also open for the 2025 season! They are located at 550 NY-82 in Hopewell Junction, NY.

4.) Mary Jane's Dairy Bar

This Orange County, NY business takes pride in their fresh and homemade options including their ice cream, ice cream cakes and food.

Mary Jane's Dairy Bar will open for the 2025 season on Friday March 28, 2025!

They are located at 5334 Rte 9W in Newburgh, NY.

5.) Bellvale Farms Creamery

This Orange County, NY business enjoys serving the Hudson Valley community for over 20 years with their homemade options including their popular ice cream choices. They also have ice cream waffle cones, ice cream cakes, ice cream pies and more.

Bellvale Farms Creamery celebrated over 200 years as being a dairy farm as well. They will be open from April until October, 7 days a week.

Bellvale Farms Creamery will open for the 2025 season on Tuesday April 1, 2025! They are located at 1390 NY-17A in Warwick, NY.

I have always enjoyed stopping by my favorite local ice cream shops and choosing a new flavor. Whether it's a hot fudge sundae, chocolate peanut butter ice cream in a cone, or an ice cream sandwich, count me in.

The Hudson Valley has strange ice cream flavors. From lemon poppyseed to thai iced tea and barn boots, there aren't any boring flavors in our area.
