Wurtsboro is a village located in Sullivan County, NY. This quaint area is filled with small businesses, friendly locals, an updated new gas station and plenty of places to explore.

Canal Towne Emporium is located in Wurtsboro, NY. Christmas lovers can rejoice at this business and celebrate this holiday all year round. This historic building was once a general store in the 1840's.

I also came across the Sullivan County Dove Trail while in Wurtsboro, NY. The beautiful dove sign on site, is part of a collection of 50 fiberglass doves. These doves are throughout Sullivan Catskills and represent the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

History buffs will enjoy visiting Custer's Last Stand in the Village of Wurtsboro, NY. In a prime location, there is a gas station, shops and restaurants nearby this Hudson Valley ice cream stand.

When visitors head towards Wurtsboro, NY to check out the area, they tend to visit to explore Crystal Connection. I've never experienced a crystal shop as large and extensive as this one in Sullivan County, NY.

Crystal Connection is known for being 

"One of the largest Crystal & Mineral destinations on the Northeast."

Crystal Connection brings a unique experience to the Hudson Valley as it's located in a 1890's Methodist Church filled with crystals, sage, incense and a giant amethyst throne! 

I had the experience of spending time in their new salt cave and using their healing devices after. Crystal Connection also offers aura photography which is hard to track down anywhere else within the Hudson Valley.

A new business has opened in Wurtsboro, NY which has now added to the area's local shopping options.

Bashakill Bazaar Is "Wurtsboro's Vintage Market" And Is Now Open

Bashakill Bazaar is a new business thats now known for being "Wurtsboro’s Vintage Market".

When visitors stop by this new establishment, they can "Find The Unexpected".

Their hours of operation are Thursday through Sunday from 11am until 6pm. They are located at 138 Sullivan St. in Wurtsboro, NY.

This new business has a wide variety of "funky finds to timeless treasures” with multiple vendors.

Bashakill Bazaar had their grand opening on Saturday May 11, 2024 as they invited the community to see their 20+ vendors and artists.

Crystal Connection is a 1890's antique, Methodist church located in Sullivan County, NY. This is a crystal lover's dream come true.

It's known for being 

"One of the largest Crystal & Mineral destinations on the Northeast." 

While this may be a place that some people gather often, others can refer to it as a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley.  Crystal Connection can also be described as 

"a sacred space & crystal haven"

I have never experienced anything similar to Crystal Connection before. The amount of crystals, crystal jewelry, singing bowls, sage and more are fascinating. Crystal Connection also hosts different events and fairs throughout the year.

How You Can Own A Former Favorite Hudson Valley Restaurant

Brother Bruno's was located on 17B in Monticello/Bethel, NY. Known for its Italian cuisine, this local business had a large menu with something for everyone to choose from. Their drink menu, holiday meal specials and signature pizza brought in foodies throughout New York state and more.

Hudson Valley residents were shocked to see a post on social media from Brother Bruno's, announcing that they closed their doors after many years.

Brother Bruno's has been permanently closed since September 2023.

The Community Was Sad To See This Family Favorite Restaurant Officially Close

Not only did Brother Bruno's officially close in Monticello/ Bethel NY, but it is now for sale. Information has been provided by Keller Williams Hudson Valley and Coldwell Banker Realty. 

Brother Bruno's located on Route 17 B in the Town of Bethel, NY is for sale. This is in the Mongaup Valley area within Sullivan County, NY. They shared, 

"High traffic location with 13,800+ cars per day, on average. 4 miles from Route 17 / Future I-86 and minutes from Bethel Woods Center for Performing Arts. 2 dining rooms to allow for ample seating and private parties or events."

"This location also boasts a full service 15+ seating bar area, outdoor seating / patio area overlooking the Mongaup River providing iconic water views. "

Outside, there is a storage building which is located behind the main building.

How Much Would It Cost To Purchase This Restaurant In Sullivan County, NY?

Keller Williams Hudson Valley and Coldwell Banker Realty shared additional information about this location.

To purchase the former Brother Bruno's in Monticello/ Bethel, NY it would cost $749,900. The taxes are $15,767 and the business type is listed as retail.

However, updates were made to the entranceway and bathrooms in 2018. The wood fired pizza oven and dining rooms were also updated in 2010.
