Jaguars in the Hudson Valley! Jagwar Twin Performs at WRRV Sessions
It was another party at Newburgh Brewing Company this week when Jagwar Twin stopped by for WRRV Sessions. The best live (and free!) alternative concert series in the Hudson Valley continued with one of most unique new artists to hit the scene in recent memory.
Jagwar Twin at WRRV Sessions
Jagwar Twin's current hit single, Happy Face mixes the best of alternative and electronic music, and it may have a familiar sound to WRRV fans, as it features drums from none other than Twenty One Pilot's Josh Dun.
The lyrics sound upbeat but contain darker undertones, with lyrics like "Say you're good, say you're fine, tell 'em everything's alright/ Hollywood on your timeline, telling you what to wear and what to like and how to be." It was an extra-special night too, because the band almost didn't make it to the brewery.
Jagwar Twin in Newburgh, NY
It was Jagwar Twin's first time in the Hudson Valley, and also their first experience with New York weather. As they drove down from Albany, the band was caught in a torrential downpour that was so intense it caused semi-trucks to pull over on the side of the highway.
With zero visibility, they worried they'd never get back on the road. Luckily (as long-term Hudson Valley residents know all too well), the weather disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared and they were back on the road in no time.
Live music, delicious beer, and amazing views are the perfect recipe for an amazing time, and Jagwar Twin delivered with a fantastic stripped-down performance with the Hudson River (and a beautiful rainbow) in the background.
