Nobody is denying that Kanye West is one of the most artistic musicians in the game today, but due to technical issues both in the arena and on air, his performance at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards was borderline unwatchable.

His performances of "All Day" and "Black Skinhead" were largely obscured by excessive smoke and sparks on stage, to the point where Kanye and whoever else may or may not have been out there with him couldn't be seen at all. This would have been passable if the television censors didn't mute about half of the performance on the ABC broadcast, more often than not in instances where profanity would not have been an issue. See the marvel of broadcast television for yourself below:

The technically subpar performance was an unfortunate end to what was otherwise an entertaining show, which featured a touching tribute to the deceased Ben E. King from Imagine Dragons, Sam Smith silently accepting an award using cue cards, and Taylor Swift winning approximately every other prize. Check out our recap page for a complete list of award winners from tonight's ceremony.
