Kings of Leon have been out of the spotlight for a while, but are ramping up activities behind the scenes as they begin work on their seventh studio album.

Alternative Addiction reports the band is recording in a 174 year old mansion outside of Nashville, Tenn. But don't expect the new record to be ready anytime soon as frontman Caleb Followill joked that bands take five years to record album number seven. Stating,

Record number seven, most people take like five years to make that or something? We're still in our very early stages of our five-year plan for this next record.

Last the Hudson Valley heard from Kings of Leon, they were cancelling their show at Bethel Woods after drummer Nathan Followill's injury forced them to cancel numerous tour dates.
