Another A-list celebrity sighting in the Hudson Valley has been documented, and this one was pretty big. We talk all the time about Hollywood on the Hudson, and the amount of sets that have popped up in the area over the past several years, but we're still trying to piece together why this particular singer, songwriter, producer, director, actor and all around awesome-guy was hanging out in Wappingers this week.

This Surprise Visit Brought a Touch of Broadway to Wappingers Falls

A social media post on one of the Hudson Valley's coolest local businesses had people talking this week. Paula's Runway Cafe, a locally owned and operated restaurant on the runway of an actual airport in Wappingers, posted around 9:30am Thursday morning, about a very special visitor:

Another celebrity spotting at the airport! Hamilton composer Lin-Manuel Miranda came in and had a coffee and a chat with our Beautiful server Lisa! The comings and goings at the Runway Café are brilliant!!! Wonderful!

Imagine walking into your favorite spot for breakfast, looking over, and having to do a double take after seeing one of the servers sharing conversation and coffee with none other than Alexander Hamilton himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Locals quickly began commenting on the post. Lots of love for LMM, plenty of 'OMGs' 'WOW' and 'Dang It! I wish I was there' comments, but a few of my favorites include:

Would have fan girled so hard!!!

Was that his plane parked outside last night?

Wow!!! I would die!!!

Ahhhh!!!! My favorite!!!

I 100% agree with the person who said they would have fan girled so hard, #same. I would have needed more than a moment to compose myself.

Someone mentioned that he was spotted at Fun Max as well, but that sighting has not been confirmed. Wappinger Town Supervisor, Joey Cavaccini, even joined the conversation:

Love to see our Wappinger celebrity list growing!

Hamilton Celebrates 10 Years, While Paula's Celebrity List Continues To Grow

Less than ten days ago, Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton celebrated its 10th anniversary on Broadway, with a star-studded invite-only performance, and a benefit as well. Featuring the current cast, the room was full of original cast members, celebrities, and friends and supporters of the production over the past ten years.

Meanwhile, back in the Hudson Valley, Paula's adds another signature name to their list of notable visitors to the Runway Cafe. Just last fall, Logan Paul, xQc & Mike Majlak touched down for burgers, in 2023 the dining area was full of members of the U.S. Army who landed their massive Chinook helicopter just outside Paula's Runway, on the actual runway. Of course there was that time that patrons of Paula's watched from the window as Usher's private plane landed at Hudson Valley Regional Airport.

The next time you head to Paula's Runway Cafe for a great meal, make sure you are paying attention to the views both inside the restaurant and out, you never know who may be taking flight...or enjoying a coffee at the table next to you.

30 Places You Might Run into a Celebrity in The Hudson Valley

Hollywood on The Hudson is real! It seems like there's a new celebrity sighting in the Hudson Valley. Here are a few of the hot spots that you may run into a celeb while walking around town.

You Must Take a Tour of These 17 Amazing and Famous Upstate NY Homes!

This gallery highlights some of Upstate New York's most magnificent mansions. But, for the most part, several of these homes are not on the average roadtripper's radar. And they should be.
These homes rival those of the rich and famous in the lower Hudson Valley, as well as being comparable to the wealthy estates in Newport, Rhode Island.

The mansions are great, and so are the back stories of the owners who built them. Each famous home listed has a link to their official social media pages so you can plan a trip. A few years back this author wrote a popular book "Open House: 35 Upstate New York Homes" (Syracuse University Press) which highlights famous (or little known) homes in the region such as these.

If I have to pick a favorite among all these incredible homes, take a look at the one in Geneseo. If you take a tour of this mansion more than likely the tour guide will be a 7th generation member of the founding family!

And all homes in this gallery give tours to the public!
