Late in the evening on Friday December 12th, a local radio host had an unfortunate collision with a deer on the way home from the radio station. And I feel terrible about it. It's the 5th time I've had a "run-in" with a deer. I'm starting to think they're out to get me.

I was driving down route 82 after working late at the WRRV Rock-A-Thon and up until that point it was an un-eventful ride home. I had seen a few deer along the side of the road earlier in the trip but that's pretty common. I was coming around a bend in the road, and the deer came barreling out of nowhere and right into the side of my car. I swear at that last moment we locked eyes, and the deer had an "oh s#$%" moment.

After nearly losing control of the car and avoiding a pesky telephone pole I continued on my way only after confirming my suspicions... the deer didn't make it.

This is not my first run-in with deer on the Hudson Valley roads. Have you had issues? What are the worst roads for deer run-ins in the area?

If only they would move deer crossings to better locations. When will the madness end?!?
