If you're looking for attention, setting a television on fire and threatening some cops with a machete will certainly do the trick.
Barry Gutierrez, 26, of Wappingers was arrested and charged with menacing a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree.
State Troopers from Wappingers Falls were dispatched by 911 to a residence where a male was reported to be acting erratically. Once police arrived at the scene, the subject retreated to his back yard where he set a television covered in gas on fire.
Gutierrez then brandished a machete and threatened officers with the weapon. He was taking into custody without incident, and transported for possessing. Gutierrez was arraigned and sent to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
He is due back in court at a later date.
