It was rainy on Saturday but parts of the Hudson Valley ended up with sunshine on Sunday. That’s the last of the sunshine you’ll see for a few days, as showers and some heavy rain moves in for the next few days. An upper disturbance and weak stationary front will combine to bring the entire region periods of showers and scattered thunderstorms right through Tuesday night. Periods of heavy rain are possible Monday afternoon and Tuesday for the Hudson Valley.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday:  Cloudy, with a chance of shower and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon. Storms could produce heavy rain. High near 79.

Monday night: Showers and thunderstorms expected, low around 68. Strong thunderstorms will produce heavy rains.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with showers likely and possible thunderstorms. Storms could produce heavy rain. High near 81.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a slight chance of shower and thunderstorms. High near 87.
