A mother and her young son lost their lives following a Black Friday fire in the Hudson Valley. Many others were injured.

The fire began around 4:15 a.m. on Friday, inside a home on Coach Lane in the Town of Newburgh. At the time of the fire, 16 people were inside the home, reports NBC. It's unclear if they all live at the home or gathered for Thanksgiving.

All 16 people, including a 2-year-old boy and his mother, were rushed to a hospital. The boy was pronounced dead on Friday. His mother was listed in critical condition.

On Saturday, the mother died from her injuries, reports ABC.

As of this writing, their names haven't been released. We will update this story when more information becomes available.

Over 20, including three police officers and three firefighters, were injured, according to NBC. The six first responders' injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
