Museum of Natural History in NYC Will Become a COVID Vaccine Site

Imagine getting a COVID-19 vaccine with a whale over your head.

According to NBC New York, the American Museum of Natural History will soon become a COVID-19 vaccine site for New Yorkers. This new vaccination site will prioritize public housing residents and cultural institution workers. However, the site will be open to all New York City residents.

NBC New York reports that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said, "It’s going to take all of us to bring back the city we know and love. With that, I would like to wish a warm whale-come to the American Museum of Natural History."

Currently, a quarter of New York City residents have received the COVID-19 vaccine. According to NBC New York, an opening date for the Museum of Natural History vaccination site has not been set yet.

While I'm already fully vaccinated and had a fantastic experience at SUNY Orange in Newburgh, I am a little jealous of anyone who can get their COVID vaccine at the Museum of Natural History. I went on at least 4 school field trips there in middle and high school. It's a really cool place. And how could we forget Night at the Museum being filmed there?! It would just be awesome to say I was vaccinated at the  Museum of Natural History.

All New Yorkers are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in New York State. This means anyone 16 years of age and older can receive the vaccine without needing a certain job or health condition.
