In honor of St. Patrick's Day, we have to talk about Irish pubs and fare.

St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays. It's all about eating, drinking, and enjoying some of the best holiday songs; what's not to love? As much as I love Irish food, and trust me I love Irish food, my favorite thing to get at an Irish pub isn't even Irish.

There's plenty of great Irish pubs in the Hudson Valley. Mahoney's, Sweeny's, McGillicuddy's, Irish Eyes, Copperfield's, the list goes on and on. I'm a true sucker for an Irish pub, they're always the best times. Copperfield's is one of my favorite pubs in the Hudson Valley. It's probably the one I frequent the most.

When I go to Copperfield's my favorite thing to get is not Irish. I don't think any bit of it is! My absolute favorite thing is their Trainwreck Fries. It's waffle fries covered in buttermilk ranch, cheddar cheese, and bacon. It's all baked together and it's heaven. I will warn you that your stomach will make you pay for the decadence later. Even after the Trainwreck fries, my next favorite thing is their chicken quesadilla. I know none of this makes sense, but it's SO GOOD.

I know I could get the classic corned beef and cabbage, or Shepard's pie, or literally any other Irish classic at this Irish pub, but I just don't want to. If I could get a side of Irish soda bread and Trainwreck fries, that would be a win-win for me. Who says you can't celebrate St. Patrick's Day with fries and a quesadilla?!
