Expanding Capacity to Serve More People in Need

The Regional Food Bank Hudson Valley has officially opened a new 50,000-square-foot food distribution center in Montgomery, Orange County. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to enhance food storage and distribution, addressing the growing demand for emergency food assistance across the region.

State Investment Strengthens Regional Food Security

The new center will allow for the safe storage of perishable food items like fresh produce, dairy, and meat, along with expanded sorting and distribution capabilities. This upgrade will directly benefit more than 400 local food programs, including pantries, shelters, and other emergency food providers. The project was made possible through a $10.7 million grant from the Community Development Block Grant CARES program, a $3.7 million capital grant from Empire State Development, and additional contributions from the Regional Food Bank and private donors.
