The highly anticipated seventh studio album from Muse 'Drones' has arrived.

The album was recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia and was produced by Mutt Lange. He is best known for his work with AC/DC, The Cars, Def Leppard and Maroon 5.

Muse experimented with electronic and orchestral sounds on their previous two albums, The Resistance and The 2nd Law. Lead singer Matt Bellemy had stated before they began recording the new album that the new release would be a return to a more basic sound. They were looking to strip away some of the experimental sounds they included on the two albums.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Bellamy had this to say when speaking about 'Drones'.

"...a modern metaphor for what it is to lose empathy, through modern technology, and obviously through drone warfare in particular, it’s possible to actually do quite horrific things by remote control, at a great distance, without actually feeling any of the consequences, or even feeling responsible in some way."

Muse recently performed and intimate show in New York City and previewed several tracks off the new album.
