A New Paltz man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old acquaintance.

The New Paltz Police Department said Justin Pastor, 37, raped the girl in his home the night of Wednesday, Dec. 23. The 15-year-old told a family member about the alleged assault, and the relative then contacted the police on Saturday, Dec. 26 at 11PM.

Pastor was taken into police custody on Monday, Dec. 28 at 3PM on one count of criminal sexual act, a felony. The New Paltz Police Department said their investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

Pastor was processed and arraigned by Town of New Paltz Justice Jonathan Katz. He was remanded to Ulster County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

The Ulster County Child Advocacy Center and the Ulster County District Attorney's Office assisted New Paltz police in the investigation.
