A Generous New York Shop Donates Thousands of Bikes
It is hard to say what people's budgets will be like this holiday season. If you listen to what people are saying, it is going to be a tough gift-giving season for a few different reasons. There are questions about tariffs, questions about the availability of gifts, and, of course, questions about how much more things might cost.
Orange County Sporting Goods Store Shares Good Vibes
I myself can't answer any of those questions for you or myself, but I can share some heart-warming information from a Hudson Valley business that has made it their mission to make getting kids what they need when it comes to them wanting a bike or even sporting equipment. Back In The Game Sports Consignment, 16 South Main Street in Florida, New York, has been helping kids and families with free gifts of bicycles and other items.
Yesterday, they shared a heartfelt letter stating that their program, which gets bikes to kids for free, has given away over 7,000 bikes so far this year. The total since the program started has been at least 23,000. In addition to the bikes, they have also helped families with free strollers, toddler swings, and walkers.
How Does Back in The Game Afford to Donate Bikes to Kids
The business itself resells what they refer to as previously loved sports equipment. Those sales help them to be able to donate bikes to kids who need them. The letter also included the news that they are starting to work on helping people also find adaptive equipment for their kids.
You may ask why Back In The Game does this for the community, as Robbie explained in the letter.
I’ve decided to spend my time every day spreading some positive vibes and helping parents to get their kids what they need. There’s no foundation. No tax shelters. No 501c3. Just 1,100 square feet of friendly space (yeah, it’s packed in the store lol) in Florida NY. Thank you for your support…whether you’ve shopped, traded, donated, or just spread the word.
