New York Father Killed On Route 9W in Hudson Valley

A Hudson Valley family is mourning the loss of a father to two young children.

On Tuesday around 8:45 p.m., New York State Police from the Coxsackie barracks responded to a motorcycle vs pick-up collision.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2006 Harley Davidson operated by 33-year-old Tyler Lane of New Baltimore was traveling north on State Route 9W when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling in the southbound lane, police say.

Lane was pronounced at the scene. The operator of the Silverado was transported to Albany Medical Center for minor injuries.

Lane is survived by his spouse and two young children. He was a longtime employee of Mueller’s Automotive in Ravena, according to his obituary.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by New York State Police.
