
Newburgh SUNY Orange Campus Evacuated
The Newburgh campus of SUNY Orange, Orange County Community College was evacuated on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
SUNY Orange posted on their Facebook on Wednesday, September 2019, that multiple buildings on the Newburgh campus have been evacuated. The Tower Building and Kaplan Hall have both been evacuated. A member of the security team, Mike Corrirer, confirmed the evacuation.
Corrirer and their Facebook reports that a suspicious package has been reported in the Maple Garage on the Newburgh campus. This building is not owned by SUNY Orange. The Maple Building is the building on the walkway at the Newburgh campus between Kaplan Hall and the Tower Building.
Due to the evacuation, all daytime classes on the Newburgh campus have been canceled. Their Facebook reports that a decision for evening classes will be made by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
