Newburgh’s “Trunk or Treat” is Actually ON Halloween
The City of Newburgh is gearing up for a Halloween celebration that’s equal parts sweet and spooky.
On October 31st, Broadway will transform into a family-friendly Halloween haven for its annual Trunk or Treat event. From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, kids and families can enjoy an evening filled with candy, games, and community spirit along Broadway between Liberty and Grand Street.
And here’s the best part: it’s actually happening on Halloween night!
Sure, Saturday or Sunday events are convenient and all, but there’s something extra special about celebrating on the REAL Halloween.
It makes the night feel even more magical, like a scene right out of a movie. It’s not just about getting candy; it’s about creating lasting memories right when you want them.
Unlike traditional trick-or-treating, this event focuses on safety and convenience, with participating vehicles parked along the designated stretch of Broadway, each with its trunk decked out in Halloween décor and filled with treats.
Costumed volunteers and organizations will be on hand to distribute candy, making it a perfect way for kids to safely celebrate Halloween while enjoying some festive fun.
THINK YOU CAN HELP?
Want to show off your trunk-decorating skills? The City of Newburgh Recreation Department encourages local residents and businesses to get creative and join in on the fun. Those interested in participating need to register in advance—either online or by calling 845-565-3230.
The more decorated cars, the more Halloween magic there will be for everyone!
So whether you’re aiming to be the most creative trunk on Broadway or just looking for a safe and fun place to bring the kids on Halloween night, the Newburgh Trunk or Treat promises a memorable evening of community, fun, and, of course, plenty of candy.
Mark your calendars, grab your costumes, and get ready to celebrate Halloween the Newburgh way!
