Newburgh Police Show Up for One Fallen Officer’s Daughter in the Best Way
A fallen Newburgh Police Officer's brothers in blue united today to help make his daughter's first day of school one that she'll never forget.
It Takes A Village
They say it takes a village, and a village came together to celebrate a brand new kindergartener start her first ever day of school in a very sentimental way. The first day of school is overwhelming for any kindergartener, but for this one in particular, her late father's police family made sure that she had a proper start.
Members of the Town of Newburgh Police Department, City of Newburgh Police Department, and the Town of New Windsor Police department joined together to send Adrianna Romano, daughter of Newburgh fallen Detective DJ Romano, off to kindergarten.
Sharing a photo on the Town of Newburgh PBA Facebook page, they asked the community to 'please join us in wishing Adrianna good luck on her first day! We know you will continue to make your father proud.
Adrianna was just 2 years old at the time of her dad's passing.
Newburgh Detective Daniel 'DJ' Romano
Back in early 2022 the Hudson Valley joined together to help the family of fallen officer Daniel 'DJ' Romano following his sudden and tragic passing. The then 32-year-old, who was a Detective in the Town of Newburgh, sadly died following a snowmobile accident in Herkimer County in late January of 2022.
Following the news of his passing, the community came together to support the Romano family with a comedy fundraiser and GoFundMe to raise money for his wife and two young daughters.
