A forest fire that burned more than 2,500 acres had to start somewhere. Authorities believe they've zeroed in on the location where it all began.

The Times Herald Record reports Summitville First Assistant Chief Robert Hufcut confirmed the location as 206 Ferguson Road in Summitville. When the Record attempted to reach the owner of the property, he declined comment and referred all questions to his attorney. The case remains open for investigation.

New York state Incident Management Team spokesman stated the wildfire is now more than 90 percent contained, with full containment possible by sometime Friday.
