Oscar Nominees Announced: Dick Poop for Best Cinematography

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Oscar nominees today and there was an unexpected nominee, Dick Poop. Academy president Cheryl Isaacs was listing the nominees for Best Cinematography, and mistakenly pronounced Dick Pope with a name she'd rather forget. The 87th annual Acadamy Awards take place February 22nd live on ABC. If you're looking for the Hudson Valley's connection to the awards show, Meryl Streep attended Vassar College and Aaron Sorkin is originally from Scarsdale. It's hard to believe that local resident James Earl Jones, despite all his other awards, has yet to win an Oscar.
