Photos: Fire in Hudson Valley Destroys Historic New York Resort
A historic and popular Hudson Valley bed and breakfast, dating back to the 1850s, was destroyed in a fire.
On Sunday around 12:30 p.m., the Kiskatom Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at The Kaaterskill Inn located at 424 High Falls Road Extension in Catskill.
The fire was already thru the roof of The Dutch Barn upon the arrival of the first truck.
Firefighters battled the blaze for some time. By the time the fire was put out, The Dutch Barn was destroyed.
"Unfortunately, the building was a total loss. There were no injuries," the Kiskatom Fire Department wrote on Facebook.
The main building at The Kaaterskill Inn is the Dutch Barn, according to The Kaaterskill Inn.
The Dutch Barn was built in the 1850s.
It used to be a huge animal barn.
"The beautifully restored dutch barn, or the inn, holds six guests suites with modern luxuries, from jacuzzi bathtubs, spacious quarters, to in-suite fireplaces, private patios each one with google mini smart speakers," The Kaaterskill Inn states on its website. "The Interior Design is contemporary, fun, eclectic mixing a collection of beautiful artworks and antiques from around the world as well as important American art."
Officials from the historic building have yet to comment on the fire. Many more photos from the fire are below.
