One person was injured after an early morning attack at a Hudson Valley motel. The alleged 61-year-old attack was arrested.

On Thursday around 8:45 a.m., members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office responded to a fight in progress at the Capri Motel in the Town of Esopus.

An investigation revealed that 61-year-old Joseph Mannello of Ulster Park was the primary aggressor and assaulted another person at the motel, police say.

The unnamed victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Mannello was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor and a violation for disorderly conduct.

Mannello was arraigned in Town of Esopus Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and $10,000 secured bond.

New York State Police and the Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad assisted at the scene.
