Police Identify Man who Died in Dutchess County Fire

State Police have identified the man who was killed during a fire in Dutchess County last weekend.

According to New York State Police, 66-year-old Steven R. Schweizer, of Holmes, is the man who was killed in the February 27th residential fire on North White Rock Road in the Town of Beekman.

During the fire the homeowner reported to a neighbor that her house was on fire and her boyfriend was missing.

Police say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

In addition to the New York State Police and the fire departments, other responding agencies included the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, Amstar EMS, New York State Electric and Gas and the New York State Department of Transportation.
