Police are investigating a single car roll over accident that occurred in Ulster County Thursday afternoon.

There's a reason why they say "keep your eyes on the road", and sadly this guy had to learn the hard way.

Saugerties police responded to a roll over motor vehicle accident around 1:30 pm on Thursday. Investigating officers established that a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by Peter E. Calvo, 40 of Coxsackie, was traveling northbound on State Route 32, crossed into the oncoming southbound lane and rolled over coming to rest against some trees.

According to witnesses, the vehicle was traveling along and then suddenly changed direction to the left.

Calvo told officers he had reached across his vehicle to adjust the passenger mirror and in doing so, he lost control of the vehicle.

Calvo was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston for evaluation.

The investigation into the accident ongoing.
