It’s possible that a second Sunday shooting in Newburgh is connected to an earlier shooting that killed one person.

On Sunday around 10:50 p.m., City of Newburgh police responded to St. Luke’s Hospital after receiving calls about a shooting victim being taken to the hospital in a private car.

A man was found inside the hospital who suffered what appears to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his left arm, police say. His name is not being released at this time.

As police investigated the shooting, they discovered it happened in the area of Liberty Street and Henry Avenue.

At this time, it’s unclear if the shooting has any connection to the homicide that occurred nearby, hours earlier. One person was killed and three other’s wounded while attending a Valentine’s Day party.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the City of Newburgh Police Department at (845)561-3131. All calls will be kept confidential, police say.
