A Newburgh teen was shot twice in the back Tuesday afternoon. 

According to a press release, the City of Newburgh police responded to a report of shots fired around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, police learned that a 17-year old male had been taken to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital with gun shot wounds.

The victim, was shot twice in the back, and transported by a relative to the hospital. He was treated and admitted to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. His name is not being released.
