A recall has been issued for a cereal by Quaker Oats over fears of salmonella contamination.

Fox 5 reports that Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch has been recalled. Quaker Oats, the maker of Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch, is recalling 17.1-ounce boxes of cereal with UPC code 0 30000 6211 1. The boxes will have best by dates of JUL 30 19 or JUL 31 19.

The recall comes after a routine inspection by Quaker Oats, according to Fox 5. The routine sampling program by quaker had resulted that there were possibilities of bacteria in the cereal.

Fox 5 says that anyone who has this product should dispose of it and not eat it. You can also return the product to where you purchased it for a full refund. For more information, you can contact Quaker Oats at 800-234-6281.

Symptoms of salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as reported by Fox 5.
