Eight years after dropping their Break Up the Concrete LP, the Pretenders are back with a new album, Alone. The New Wave icons tapped the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach (a fellow native of frontwoman Chrissie Hynde's native — and criminally underrated! — Akron, Ohio) to produce the 12-track record, out October 21 via BMG. Listen to the taut, jangly closer "Holy Commotion!" below, accompanied by the album art and track listing.

Bad news for those expecting the original lineup of Hynde, James Honeyman-Scott, Pete Farndon and Martin Chambers: Hynde's the sole founding member featured on Alone, which was recorded at Auerbach's Easy Eye Studio in Nashville. Way to abandon the Buckeye State, Dan. Who are you, LeBron James?

Instead, she's joined by a backing band comprised of guitarist Kenny Vaughan (Lana Del Rey, Ray Lamontagne) and pedal steel powerhouse Russ Pahl (Dennis Wilson, Blake Shelton), plus three (!) members of Auerbach's psych band the Arcs: Dave Roe, Richard Swift and Leon Michels (on bass, drums and keyboards, respectively).

Next month, Hynde and company will hit the road with rumored witch  legendary songstress Stevie Nicks for a co-headlining arena tour slated to run through the end of the year. Check out those dates below.
