Prime Print Shop in Poughkeepsie, NY is offering a number of eclipse-related promotions, including free solar eclipse glasses before the total eclipse that can be seen in New York on April 8th.

Prime Print Shop in Poughkeepsie Giving Out Special Solar Eclipse Glasses

To safely view a solar eclipse, you need special eclipse glasses. Those extra-dark shades block out almost all light, allowing you to look directly at the sky without damaging your retinas. Usually when you look at the sun in the sky, the bright light damages the retinas in the back of your eyes.

As you can tell from the featured image of this article, I have my glasses already! They remind me a lot of the old 3D glasses we used to get at the movie theatres when we were younger. Plus, I love the image of Prime Print Shop's mascot Phoebe chilling with some glasses of her own in the center of the glasses!

New York State's Total Solar Eclipse Happening April 8th

In just a few weeks, New York will become the watching grounds for one of the most spectacular phenomena in nature - a total solar eclipse! Everyone inside the shadow will experience the breathtaking sight of the Sun’s corona during the total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024. Simply put, a total eclipse of the Sun is the most beautiful sight you will ever see in the sky. Nothing can prepare you for the amazing sight when the sky suddenly darkens and the Sun’s corona shines in the sky.

The major cities of New York inside the path of total solar eclipse are Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. Niagara Falls will be a special attraction for eclipse visitors wishing for a scenic viewpoint. The total solar eclipse visits New York on April 8, 2024 beginning at 3:16 pm EDT with the final exit of the Moon’s shadow from the state at 3:29 pm EDT. Through New York, the speed of the Moon’s shadow will accelerate from about 2210 miles per hour to about 2735 miles per hour.
