Reward Offered After ‘Brutal Killing’ of Cat in Hudson Valley
A reward is being offered after a pet was found dead in the Hudson Valley. The pet's owner believes the cat was "brutally murdered" and is hosting an event to prove, "Hate has NO home here."
On June 16, Angelina Bouros says her beloved cat, Rambo, was murdered. According to Bouros, her pet was "slaughtered and cut in half," in the back of her Ulster County property.
Bouros is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
"TO THOSE WHO THINK YOUR HATE MAIL AND KILLING RAMBO WILL INTIMIDATE ME - YOU'RE WRONG- I AM DEDICATED TO ERADICATING YOUR HATRED AND BIGOTRY IN OUR COMMUNITY," she wrote in a flyer offering a reward in a post on Facebook.
On Saturday, Bouros is asking the community to join her as she paints her Rosendale home on Dellay Avenue in rainbow colors.
"Due to hate mail I received and the recent brutal killing of my cat Rambo in the back of my property, I am painting my house the colors of the rainbow and send a CLEAR message: Hate has NO home here," Bouros said in a Facebook post promoting her event.
Paint and materials are being donated by Herzog's Home Center.
Police say they investigated and haven't been able to determine how the animal died. A New York State Police spokesperson told Hudson Valley Post they will investigate further if more information becomes available. According to Bouros, the police are continuing the investigation into her pet's death.
