RIP RadioShack 1921 – 2015

Everyone's favorite chain for... batteries? Remote control cars? I'm not really sure what people bought there but it's gone now. RIP.

In what seems like it's been coming for a long time, RadioShack is finally going the way of the dodo (a phrase that seems to have gone the way of the dodo, itself).

You may recall this commercial from last year's Super Bowl attempting to tout the company's rebirth:

Mostly I recall someone trying to sell me batteries every time I had to buy even the smallest of non-battery-related items. I also recall that, in the many, many years in which I have lived near a RadioShack, seeing maybe 3 cars outside of the store. Ever.
