Following an online cyber tip report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an investigation was then initiated by the ICAC, Internet Crimes Against Children regional task force, in Rockland County.

The ICAC Task Force is responsible for protecting children by 'identifying individuals online who are attempting to lure children to meet for sex or those disseminating child sexual abuse material (CSAM).' Members include the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, New York
State Police, Federal Agencies, and other local law enforcement.

Search warrants were executed at Dworkin's home, and for his electronic devices as a result of the investigation, and an arrest was made on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Following arraignment in Clarkstown Justice Court, bail was set at $500,000 cash, $1 million bond, and $1.5 million partially secured bond with 10 percent down. Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III and Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Santangelo are prosecuting the case, which is set to resume on November 25th.

Rockland DA Speaks Out Following Arrest of Corrections Sergeant

Rockland DA Walsh, in his press release, reinforced the sadness he had in sharing the news of one of his county's corrections sergeants.

My Office is committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community—our children...The charges against this individual are deeply disturbing, particularly given his position of public trust. Those who exploit or endanger children will be held fully accountable for their actions. I commend the continued integrity and professionalism of my Office’s investigators and prosecutors who work tirelessly to investigate and apprehend individuals who are violating the law.

DA Walsh also reinforced that the actions of this individual, Dworkin, 'in no way reflect the values and dedication shown everyday' by the men and women of the Rockland County Corrections Division.

In addition to ICAC, Clarkstown Police and Homeland Security Investigations also assisted with the case.
