Silverstein are back with a new song that sounds an awful lot like, well, early Silverstein. Coincidentally, it also features a contribution from Intervals guitarist (and sole current member) Aaron Marshall.

The tune is called "Bad Habits," and it arrived Wednesday (Feb. 5) with an accompanying music video. Watch the clip down toward the bottom of this post. The song's the latest from Silverstein's upcoming album, A Beautiful Place to Drown, due out March 6 via UNFD. Last month, the Canadian rockers issued the effort's first single "Infinite," a number that features a guest appearance from Underoath drummer and co-vocalist Aaron Gillespie.

Listeners who remember Silverstein's early days on Victory Records might be surprised to learn that "Bad Habits" somewhat harkens back to that classic sound. The track's a catchy rocker with an indelible hook that also veers into post-hardcore and screamo territory at certain points.

"This record largely deals with the feeling of defeat that can come from trying to overcome your demons, but 'Bad Habits' turns that upside down," guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau shared. "It's resigned rather than aspirational. 'Bad Habits' is a banger that takes place in that sliver of daylight between recognition and regret. After action, but before reaction. For these three minutes, we're embracing the devil on our collective shoulder."

Singer Shane Told added, “When we finished putting together 'Bad Habits' I knew it was going to be a fan favorite. This song is action-packed and just plain fun. It's a rush of adrenaline and then Aaron from Intervals comes in shredding and just puts it over the top."

Silverstein are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and will be touring heavily throughout 2020. The band aims to honor their entire catalog, highlighting early effort Discovering The Waterfront as well as performing both a stripped-down acoustic set a careering-spanning batch of fan favorites.

A Beautiful Place to Drown includes some help from not only Marshall and Gillespie, but also features guest spots from Simple Plan's Pierre Bouvier, Beartooth's Caleb Shomo and hip-hop artist Princess Nokia.

Silverstein "Bad Habits" Lyrics

I keep chasing
Bad feelings
I keep breaking down
I never deal with it
Drown cause I don't wanna swim
I'm good with
Bad habits

I know this is how I get
I take a small thing and get obsessed
But I don't care what anyone says
It's just me and my demons left
I believe in all my doubts
I could be good but I need to calm down
But I'm back on my bullshit now
I'm running back to a burning house

Why pay for my mistakes
I get them for free

Why do I keep chasing
Bad feelings
I keep breaking down
I never deal with it
Drown cause I don't wanna swim
I'm good with
Bad habits

Left home fist full of stones
Unpacked in a new glass condo
Cut my teeth biting my own tongue
Left no short song unsung
Took a chance on a melody
Laid down where the train should be
Rescued by a hand in the ocean
Now I'm alive in the wind's reflection

Why pay for my mistakes
I get them for free

Why do I keep chasing
Bad feelings
I keep breaking down
I never deal with it
Drown cause I don't wanna swim
I'm good with
Bad habits

Slow down
The broken record's still spinning
Drop 45 to 33
I'm sinking
Lower lower lower
I'm sinking
Lower lower lower

I keep chasing
Bad feelings
I keep breaking down
I never wanted to quit
Cause I'm good with it

I keep chasing
Bad feelings
I keep breaking down
I never deal with it
Drown cause I don't wanna swim
I'm good with
Bad habits

Why do I keep chasing
Bad feelings
I keep chasing
Bad feelings (Down, I never deal with it)
I keep chasing
Bad feelings (Drown cause I don't wanna swim)
I'm good with
Bad habits
