It's hot outside and most of us don't have a lot of extra money to treat ourselves. Is there anything more delicious than a free drink?

Who is thirsty? It is July 11 and did you really celebrate if you didn't get you free Slurpee? People all over the Hudson Valley love Slurpees. They taste even better when they are free.

According to USA Today, 7-Eleven stores are participating in 7-Elevenn day by offering free Slurpees to customers although it isn't just for patron who just randomly walk in. Apparently this year you need to be a member of their rewards program.

Maybe you love Slurpees and you want to get one or maybe you have never had one before and you would like to taste one. There is just one problem. There are not a lot of 7-Eleven convenience stores in the Hudson Valley. According to Google, there are locations in Newburgh, Poughkeepsie and Monroe. Your odds of getting a free Slurpee is pretty bleak if you don't live or work near those cities.

There might be some hope though.

You can redeem a free Slurpee at Speedway gas stations. Last year the two companies merged.

This is good news for you if you want that Slurpee. There are far more Speedway locations in the Hudson Valley region that 7-Eleven stores. The treat is available for Speedy Rewards members.
