Coffee giant Starbucks is closing hundreds of locations across the U.S., including 40 stores across New York and the lower Hudson Valley, NY.

Last week, we learned that the Seattle-based coffee company Starbucks was preparing to close hundreds of stores across the nation and lay off 900 employees as the company began a $1 billion restructuring plan.

Starbucks Closing 400+ Stores in North America

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol informed employees of the company's restructuring plan in a memo last week, saying they're slashing 900 employees at stores in North America, and immediately closing select stores.

At the time, Starbucks didn't specify which stores would be closing but said it planned to have 18,300 locations open across North America, down from the previous store count of 18,734.

Starbucks Closing Some Stores in Most States

Previous reports stated that California, Oregon, Texas, Minnesota, Washington, and other select states would be closing multiple locations. Those reports also stated that only one New York store would be closing, but it's been confirmed that New York is losing numerous locations.

Starbucks Closing 40+ New York Stores

Starbucks is/has already closed 42 stores in New York State, including 25 stores in Manhattan, 7 in Brooklyn, NY, and 4 in Queens, NY, according to PIX 11.

Starbucks will also close the store at The Rise at 563 New Scotland Ave in Albany, NY, the store at 2490 Main St in Lake Placid, NY, and the store at 650 Park Ave in Rochester, NY.

Starbucks Near the Hudson Valley Closing

Starbucks is expected to close four other locations, including stores located at 2 S Greeley Ave in Chappaqua, NY, 29 Park Place in Bronxville, NY, as well as the stores 1270-80 N Ave in New Rochelle, NY, and 21-02 49th Ave in Long Island City, NY.
