The menu at Starbucks, the largest coffee chain on the planet, is about to look a lot different. Starting today, at least 13 items will disappear forever.

There are few things as personal as a coffee order, and while other chains like Dunkin' have plenty of loyal customers (and sell more than four billion cups of coffee per year), Starbucks has always been known as the place to go to get special customized beverages. So what's with the change?

Menus Are Shrinking at New York Starbucks Locations

Despite local franchises like Ready Coffee expanding to new locations, plenty of Hudson Valley residents still flock to Starbucks daily. These new changes will directly affect fans of one type of drink in particular.

Starbucks "Simplifying" Their Menu

In a recent press release, Starbucks shared that they were "simplifying" their menu. Even for customers losing their favorite drink, the logic behind the move should be understandable.

Alongside the fancy corporate-speak of "menu simplification" and the "focus on more popular items executed with excellence" is an actual benefit of the coffee cull: lower wait times.
