Go Fund Me has done some amazing things for people and this story is no exception. A few days ago, the story of Detroit native James Robertson started making the rounds on social media. Robertson has been walking to work, more than 21 miles per day, for nearly a decade.

USA Today reports this led student Evan Leedy to begin a Go Fund Me campaign for the man, and in just a few days has taken on a life of it's own. As of Wednesday, more than $289,000 has been raised so James doesn't have to walk to work any more. Leedy had initially set a goal of $5,000 but this was surpassed within a matter of hours.

As a matter of fact, in addition to the donations that have been collected so far, a local Chevy dealership has offer to give Robertson a 2014 Cruz or Sonic. But having nearly $300k in donations so far, I'm thinking he may want to go with a nice SUV to get himself through those tough Michigan winters.
