In recognition of the financial challenges imposed by the global pandemic on current and prospective students, the SUNY Orange Board of Trustees voted unanimously recently to hold tuition and student fees flat for the 2021-22 academic year.

The vote assures that the full-time tuition rate will remain constant at $2,688 per semester for New York State residents and $5,376 per semester for non-residents. The part-time tuition rate will stay at $224 per credit for New York State residents and $448 per credit. All mandatory, non-refundable fees and College-specific fees, will remain the same as well.

“The Board recognizes the hardships SUNY Orange students are, and have been, encountering. This past year has been difficult for everyone and I applaud those students who have persevered despite many adversities,” said Fred Watson, Board chair. “We received requests from our students and our College community, through our Shared Governance body, to hold tuition flat. Those words resonated with us.”

“The last 12 months have been a challenge for SUNY Orange as well. The Trustees have been actively monitoring the College budget, and appreciate the great work employees and administrators have done to keep expenses in check,” Watson added. “We also are thankful for an infusion of federal funding, as well as a favorable budget recently passed in New York State and the continued strong support of Orange County, that has strengthened the College’s financial position for 2021-22. Those factors, combined, allowed us to confidently and unanimously take this step on behalf of our students.”

The Fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 23. Students can register now to take advantage of this tremendous cost saving opportunity. SUNY Orange will offer new and incoming students a blend of in-person and remote course offerings that will allow students to build a schedule that meets their particular learning and lifestyle needs.
